Manufactured between 1968 and 1974, the Volkswagen Type 4 evolved through two generations - 411 and 412 - before being replaced by the all-new Passat B1. The Type 4 was a significant car for VW, with both saloon and estate models being the final rear-engined and air-cooled cars to be designed by the Wolfsburg firm.
