Writer, broadcaster and documentary maker

Manchán Magan was an Irish writer and documentary-maker. He has written books on his travels in Africa, India and South America and two novels. He presented the RTÉ podcast The Almanac of Ireland, and was the author of the award-winning, best-selling Thirty-Two Words for Field and Listen to the Land Speak. His illustrated books include Tree Dogs, Banshees Fingers and other Irish Words for Nature and Wolf-men and Water Hounds. He made dozens of documentaries on issues of world culture for TG4, RTÉ & Travel Channel. He was on the board of Hometree, a native woodland & land regeneration charity, and was an ambassador for The Rivers Trust.
