Wilfred Owen's Shrewsbury

Wilfred Owen was born in 1893 in Weston Lane, near Oswestry, in Shropshire. His family moved to Shrewsbury in 1907, and Owen would spend his formative years in the town prior to the outbreak of war in 1914. Both an intimate account of Owen's family life in Shrewsbury, and an atmospheric portrait of the town during the early years of the 20th century, this book sheds new light on the seminal war poet.
