We Kid Ourselves

Tony's third collection of performance poetry confronts racism, indoctrination and the rise of righteousness, whilst exploring blame culture, cancel culture, media representation and their roles in disenfranchising personal development and the loss of youth. We live in an extraordinary age. One wherein people across the globe shape and self-critique, appraise and abuse through the lenses of others. Free market capitalism, encouraging us to think as individuals, is no more than group targeting, directing. This faux market- and media-driven individuality denies true self-identity and worth. We are as disposable as plastic, and as dangerous to the planet we live on if we continue to thoughtlessly accept it; we are melting ice-caps, raising temperatures, bringing chaos, starvation and war. This is a collection about the land.
