'Unschooled' is a memoir of a family, and a woman navigating the endless travails of motherhood. But Caro Giles' daughters are educated at home, not through 'lifestyle choice', but because the chronically underfunded school system simply does not work for many children with special educational needs, and Caro has no alternative.
