The Devil's Dye

The Devil's Dye follows a family of immigrants, known as 'Strangers', who settle in East Anglia in 1566. It's historical fiction but weaves fact and folklore through its tale, blending the Black Shuck legend into its dramatic ending. Jowan, the protagonist, is a young ambitious dyer; discontent to live a conventional life. His antics demand a lot on those he claims to love and shadow the safety of his family, challenging their faith in both love and religion.
