Generation rent is getting fed up with the boomers. We know something is going wrong with wealth inequality. The gap is widening between those that own houses, shares and other assets, versus those that don't. The more you own, the wider the gap. This book is about 'wealth inequality' not 'income inequality'. Over the past hundred years, governments have had a track record of reducing income inequality; through taxes on income and the provision of benefits, as well as publicly funded health and education. Wealth inequality is a different matter. We have seen the prices of houses, shares and other assets rise inexorably. Fine if you are an owner. Not so fine if you are a renter, or someone wanting to buy a home, or invest in a company. Solving these challenges is, however, not as difficult as it may appear.
