Once the Napoleonic wars end, Frederick Wentworth returns from them with prize money and a higher rank. When Anne encounters him again, she realizes that her feelings for him run deep. But will Captain Wentworth, now an eligible bachelor and the talk of the town, choose her and be persuaded to give her a second chance? Or would he much rather prefer a fresh start? She was persuaded to end the engagement, leaving Captain Wentworth quite disappointed.
