Old Carradale

Carradale, on the Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll, has been a fishing village for hundreds of years and until the 1840s was useful for smuggling too. In the 20th century fishing, tourism and agriculture held the local economy together and for many years the Campbeltown steamers stopped at Carradale's Pier which even had its own postmark! Besides fishing boats and the larger steamers, the book also includes village scenes, the Bungalow Tearoom, the inter-war bungalows, the post office, hotel, Port Righ and other locations around the village.
