Old Bramley & Stanningley

Bramley is an old place located near Leeds. It's mentioned in Domesday and was important enough by 1644 that Leeds Market was moved here during the plague. In the 19th century, industries arrived such as boot-making, woollens and engineering and the Bramley Organ Works was started in 1884. The selection of photos in this illustrated history reflects life in a busy working town after 1900.
