Mlima's Tale

Mlima is an elephant, struck down by poachers for his magnificent tusks. And so begins a journey, following the trajectory of those tusks from Mlima's homeground in a Kenyan game park, through the ivory trade market and beyond. And all the while, Mlima's ghost follows close behind, marking those complicit in his barbaric death. Continuing in her tradition of crafting thought-provoking, socially conscious dramas, Lynn Nottage's play Mlima's Tale is a powerful and unforgettable drama from an American dramatist whose plays have captivated audiences around the world. It was first staged at The Public Theater, Off-Broadway, in March 2018.
