Conrad.Otl Aicher, one of the most influential German designers of the 20th century, founded the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Ulm together with Inge Aicher Scholl and Max Bill.Their first student was Hans G. Conrad, who photographed the years 1953 to 1957 in extensive series.From the images published here for the first time, a multifaceted and lively impression emerges of Aicher's wide-ranging activities at the HfG, including designs for Braun, teaching under Josef Albers and Walter Peterhans, and working with colleagues and guests such as Tomás Maldonado, Max Bense, Herbert Bayer, Norbert Wiener, and Theodor Heuss.The book features two previously unpublished original texts by Otl Aicher on design from 1962.English and German text.Otl Aicher (b. 1922 in Ulm - d. 1991 in Günzburg) was a German graphic designer and typographer. He is most know for founding Ulm, as well as his designs for the 197 Olympic Games in Munich.Hans G. Conrad (b. 1926 in Remetschwil - d. 2003 in Cologne) was a photographer and graphic designer.
