In Aesop's 'The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg' a huntsman pays a high price for letting his greedy nature get the better of him. In the Buddhist fable 'The Tortoise and the Geese', a talkative tortoise lands himself in trouble when he lets his mouth run away with him.
