Families and Migration

There are a multitude of reasons for migration: war, natural disaster, famine, poverty, or political oppression, among others. Immigrants or immigrant families commonly face many challenges in starting a new life in completely different cultural contexts. This edited collection provides a broad examination of immigrant families, with a particular focus on the causes, processes and consequences of migration. Families and Migration: Examining the Causes, Processes, and Consequences of Migration sheds light on the emotional, social, and economic impacts of migration on individuals and families, highlighting key themes such as mental health, labor dynamics, transnational care, and cultural adaptation.
