Rollercoasters: Diverse Words and Voices is a collection of over 30 fiction and non-fiction extracts designed to support teachers in diversifying their KS3 and KS4 English curriculum and prepare students for unseen texts at GCSE. The extracts in this collection celebrate diversity from a wide range of classic and contemporary authors, including Sharna Jackson, Floella Benjamin, Monisha Rajesh, Malala Yousafzai, Magean Rapinoe, Stephen Hawking, Samira Ahmed, Dara McNaulty, Patrick Ness, Kit de Waal, Lemn Sissay, Christy Brown, and more. The extracts also feature characters with a diverse range of perspectives and experiences, ensuring that more students see themselves represented in the texts taught in the English classroom. Edited by Bennie Kara, the texts in this collection are categorised into themes and supported by contextual notes, enabling them to be used flexibly and fit seamlessly into existing schemes of work.
