Caress Your Vision

Bringing together a constellation of references, from Galileo to 'The Sims' and the poster girls of twentieth century astronomy to Musk's Mars colony, 'Caress Your Vision'applies a feminist reading to a technology and field dominated by narratives of male genius, seeking to identify and disrupt the dichotomisation of gender within the scientific imaginary. Through a typology of found images from popular astronomy magazines and an essay in three parts, Ellie Wyatt explores representations of men as legitimate researchers engaged in the act of doing science, and of women performing the act of presentation.
