Bookworm Buddies A To Z

A celebration of the healing power of reading in the hospital, featuring children from infancy through school-age with complex health needs. Simple rhymes and vibrant, full-color photographs introduce these amazing children from A to Z, reading with family members, medical caregivers, pets and by themselves. Commentary is provided by Colleen the Cat and her pal Bookworm on each page, noting benefits of reading for bonding, language and brain development and to help children feel more comfortable and loved. An illustrated glossary describes medical devices required by these children shown in the photographs, including tracheostomies, ventilators and feeding tubes, which helps foster understanding of health differences and is ideal for STEM and DEI curricula.
