ASMv28 Bede Manuscripts

For all who study Anglo-Saxon literature, history, and culture, this series-created by a distinguished international team of scholars-provides access to original sources. The project aims to produce complete facsimiles of about five hundred manuscripts containing Old English. ​ Each issue typically contains eight to ten manuscripts, with an average total of 900-1000 folios (1800-2000 pages) on DVD. Each issue includes a full scholarly guide to the manuscripts, which are clearly identified by name, library, shelfmark, Ker/Gneuss numbers, and short title. The accompanying book of scholarly descriptions details manuscript history, annotates special features, and provides important codicological information, including collation, detailed contents, and selected bibliography.
