A Will To Deliver

Christopher Codrington (1668-1710) was an English Army officer, planter and colonial administrator. He served as governor of the Leeward Islands between 1699 and 1704. Born in Barbados he inherited one of the largest sugar plantations on the island. Following his death in 1710, his will and testament led to the establishment of Codrington College and The Lodge School, with both institutions officially founded in 1745. In 2019, a committee appointed to observe the 275th anniversary of the founding of The Lodge School and Codrington College decided to publish a book that would record the fortunes of both institutions.
