Ordering - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order a book?

When you have found a book you want to order, click on the "Add to Cart" button.

To add more books, click on "Continue Shopping". 

You can get to your shopping cart at any time by clicking on 'Shopping Cart' in the top right corner of the screen, or by clicking on the shopping cart icon if you are on mobile.

To finish your order, click on "Go to Cart". You can remove items from your shopping cart by ticking the 'Remove' checkbox to the left of the item and then clicking on 'Update Shopping Cart'. You can change the quantity by adjusting the number in the quantity column and then clicking 'Update Shopping Cart'. When you are satisfied, click 'Checkout'. 

You may choose to checkout as a guest, or to register an account. Please note that checking out as a guest does not allow use of the Dubray Card as payment, and Dubray reward points will not be added to your Dubray Card.

NB During the ordering process, you will be given an option to have your data retained for visits. You must select this option if you want to able to review your order history at a later date.

If you've ordered or registered with us before, simply sign in with your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on 'Forgotten Password'. You can then choose to have your password reminder, or a completely new password, sent to your email address. 

To change your password, click on 'Your Account' at the top of any page. Then click on 'Change Password' on the sign in panel. You will need to enter your old password before entering a new one. 

You will need to fill in all the details for the order including billing address, choosing between delivery and click-and-collect, delivery address if needed, and valid credit card details.

You will get a chance to review all of this information on the final check page, before submitting the order. You will also have the option to save this information for your next visit.

Once you submit the order, you will be shown an order confirmation number, and you will be sent an order confirmation email.

What are your shipping charges?

Island of Ireland:

You may choose to have your books delivered, or you may prefer to collect them from your nearest branch. There is never any charge for collecting your books.

Orders will be delivered by courier service - we recommend using a delivery address where someone will be present to receive the delivery and sign for it if necessary. 

Shipping costs €4 for orders under €20, and is free on orders over €20.

If ordering for delivery to Northern Ireland, please select Northern Ireland rather United Kingdom as the delivery country, in order to avail of the Island of Ireland delivery charge. 

UK and EU Shipping 

All orders for delivery to the UK and the EU are sent via courier. We recommend using a delivery address where someone will be present to receive the delivery and sign for it if necessary.

UK shipping costs €12.

EU shipping costs €15.

At present we cannot ship outside of the EU.


How can I pay for my order?

We accept the following credit and charge cards: Visa and Mastercard.

How does my account work?

To create an account, click on the  'My Account' link in the top right corder of any page of the web site.  Alternatively, an account will automatically be created for you during the ordering process, provided you select the option to have your details retained for future visits.

To access your account at any later stage, the click the 'My Account' link again. You will be asked to sign in with your email address and password. From here, you can edit all the details saved against your account. Remember to click 'Save changes' if you change anything.

Can I view previous orders on my account?

You can view a summary of all orders placed with us online, by clicking on the Orders tab on the left hand side when you are on the 'My Account' page. You will need to be signed in to view this summary. To view the full details, click on 'Details' next to the order you wish to inspect.  You must select the option to have your details retained for future visits in order to create the Order History.

Can I return a book?

We are happy to replace any books that are damaged in transit on condition that the books are returned to us.  You may also return any book you have ordered within 30 days of delivery provided it remains in saleable condition for exchange or credit.  Please contact our web ordering department at, quoting your original order number to arrange any returns.

Do you stock all the books on your website? Are all the books available?

At any time we have approximately 35,000 different titles in stock.  In order to offer the widest range possible to our customers, we also list every book we expect to be able to source easily.  Where we do not have a book in stock, we will order it from the publisher or wholesaler.  Although we strive to keep all the information on the website up to date, we may find that a book is temporarily unavailable, or has gone out of print. If there will be any delay in fulfilling your order we will contact you by email.

Are the prices the same online as in your shops?

We do our best to keep prices the same but with so many books involved, complete accuracy is not always possible. Where there is a discrepancy, we will charge you the lower of the two prices.
