Frank O'Connor Short Story Award

The shortlist for the Frank O'Connor Short Story Award has been announced. Honouring the great Cork writer, the award has previously been won by Edna O'Brien, Miranda July and Haruki Murakami among others. Only original collections of short stories are eligible for the award, worth €25,000 to the winner. This year's shortlist is led by highly regarded American author Joyce Carol Oates, perhaps better known for her novels of which the latest is The Accursed. Her collection, Black Dahlia And White Rose, and that of Tomaz Dobozy, Siege 13, are not yet published in the UK or Ireland - please contact us by email directly to enquire about ordering from the US.
