McBride & Magee Make Shortlist

Irish writers Eimear McBride and Audrey Magee are among the six authors shortlisted for the Bailey's Women's Prize for Fiction. Founded in 1996, the Bailey's Prize (formerly the Orange Prize) is the pre-eminent prize for fiction written by women. The two Irishwomen are considered outsiders for the overall prize, with Donna Tartt and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie favoured by the bookmakers.
