‘As long as I walk, she must live.  Please tell her this...’  This is the message Harold Fry sends to Queenie before setting off, on foot, on the 627 mile journey to be with her.  Until today, Harold has lived a quiet suburban life with his wife Maureen.  He retired some years back and has never been the impulsive type. Now, however, something has changed.  He has made the decision to see Queenie and that, quite simply, is what he intends to do! Harold sets off on the journey of a lifetime; a journey of smiles and tears, in which old memories resurface and new memories are made. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a book so much.  It is a simple, well-executed story with wonderfully imagined characters.  A book to read and re-read; an absolute treasure.
